Madeline "Maddie" Rubin is a writer and a dabbler from New York City. She is currently a Neubauer Fellow and a PhD student in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. She received undergraduate degrees in Risk, Data, and Financial Engineering and English from Duke University. 

Her work spans writing, coding, comedy, and photography, and she is interested in how personality survives with and against modern technology. Her various projects have been featured in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and The Believer.
